NIK Software’s Complete Collection for Aperture

NIK Complete Collection.png

On the heels of my reviews of Silver Efex Pro and Color Efex Pro, I discovered NIK has an excellent package called the Complete Collection for Aperture which includes Dfine® 2.0, Viveza™, Color Efex Pro™ 3.0, Silver Efex Pro™, and Sharpener Pro™ 3.0 for just $299. This is an excellent value for serious Aperture users.

Hmmm. I already have DFine2 and Color Efex Pro. I would have bought the whole package had I known to wait!

Hi there – I’m with Nik, so I hope you don’t mind me jumping in. Getting the Complete Collection for Aperture still might be a good deal for you. The SRP (sugg. retail price) for the other 3 products is $650 (Viveza, Sharpener Pro 3.0, and Silver Efex Pro). Maybe download the trial versions and see if it makes sense?

    Hi David,

All the Nik plugin products are great but they seem expensive. Aperture cost $200 and a plugin to convert photos to black-and-white cost $200.

The combination $299 package ($599 to use with Photoshop) is a better value but now you’re spending more that Aperture cost.

It would be nice if they had a software package to work with a program like Photoshop Elements which combined some of their plugins at a lower price so more consumers and weekend photographers who need the help could afford it.

    Keep up the great work.

    >All the Nik plugin products are great but they seem expensive.
    >Aperture cost $200 and a plugin to convert photos to black-and-white
    >cost $200.

Creative Suite from Adobe is over $1,200 and Mac OSX is only $200 – but no one questions Adobe’s pricing because of the functionality it provides.

This package is an awesome value for what you get, and I look forward to being able to afford all of the Nik plugins.

If you don’t agree they are worth it to you, then that’s one thing. There are lower plug ins from other publishers that are not as full featured as the Nik plugins that will work with elements, but that’s not Nik’s market. But I think it’s a little gouache to complain to Nik that their product is overpriced when they just discounted it substantially!
