What I’m Doing Now

Updated January 20, 2025, from Endor Studios.

Projects

There are always more. Please don’t ask me for release dates or details. I’m still figuring all that out myself.

Project Bookshelf: Mission Accomplished!
  • Hooray! The new new Shortcuts for iPhone & iPad Field Guide lives! Webinar series is now in process.
  • I redid my “proper recording rig” for the updated Productivity Field Guide. Test footage is done and recording’s started on about 20 new videos for the new edition. I’ve learned so much in the last year, and I’m pouring all that back into the update. This is a focus for me now. I explained why it’s so important to me here.
  • The new Productivity Field Guide launch looms! Soon.
  • The Podcasts (Mac Power Users and Focused) are humming along. Moving production into Notion worked out way better than I expected it would.
  • I’m putting out lots of great content for MacSparky Labs.
  • In the woodshop, I finished the new bookshelf project. There is some Japanese influence on this one, and the shelf almost looks floating once it is filled with books. Ahsoka is not impressed.
  • I want to create more content for YouTube. I’ve released hundreds of private videos to MacSparky Labs members, and it’s time to use some of that experience on public videos.

Transitions

Two big projects for me, the Productivity Field Guide and the bookshelf are both finishing around the same time. That feels good. I’ll be busy with the Productivity Field Guide Webinar series next.

Current Book(s)

Oliver Burkeman’s Meditations for Mortals. As the author recommends, I’m reading slowly, a chapter a day. It’s got some excellent ideas. I also just bought The Notebook: A HIstory of Thinking on Paper, though I’ve not started reading it yet.

I also just got the audio book for Brandon Sanderson’s Wind and Truth. The conclusion of the the Stormlight Archive. At 62 hours, this one will take me awhile to finish.

Hat tip to Derek Sivers for the idea of this “Now” page. I’m terrible at social media, but this page gives me a place to check in with the world and update you, as Derek recommends, like I would when catching up with an old friend.
